Do I need to replace my amalgam fillings?
Yes, for two reasons. Amalgam fillings are the old style mercury metal fillings. Replacing them with white fillings mean we make your teeth look good. And you deserve to have a great smile. Advancements in colour matching mean you can be given an almost invisible filling. Additionally, unlike amalgam, the new fillings actually bond onto the surrounding tooth enamel much better. By acting much more like real tooth structure they make an otherwise fragile tooth much stronger.
